AMCON completed a full interior fit-out of the building, including patient treatment areas, intake spaces, staff offices, and supporting clinical spaces. The project also included extensive coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across both clinical and operational areas, along with life safety, accessibility, and code compliance upgrades.
The finished spaces include a bright common kitchen with an island and seating, a lounge for patients, clinical rooms equipped with sinks and emergency eyewash stations, accessible bathrooms with grab bars and walk-in showers, staff workstations, and meeting rooms with warm teal accents. Outside, a new entrance ramp and fresh landscaping give the building a clear, welcoming approach.
Healthcare environments leave no room for guesswork. Every system, finish, and layout has to meet strict regulatory requirements, and every space has to work for the patients and staff who use it. AMCON phased construction within an occupied facility, sequencing the work so the building could keep operating while new spaces came online. We also coordinated closely with the landlord’s concurrent base building work, keeping both efforts moving in step.
Complex MEP systems ran through clinical and support spaces alike, so early coordination and clear communication were essential. AMCON’s team stayed organized and proactive at every phase, working closely with the owner’s team and design partners to keep the project on track and fully compliant. It is the kind of highly regulated, multi-phase work where our experience and attention to detail make a real difference.
The completed facility is calm, functional, and built with care. Clear circulation, durable and easy-to-maintain finishes, and thoughtful touches like natural wood tones and soft color give the space a warm, human feel without losing sight of safety and compliance. AMCON delivered a mental health treatment facility that supports patients, empowers staff, and meets every requirement, and we are proud to help bring vital services to the Lowell community.
